BCM...Moving Lives Forward

Across the state of Oklahoma, every BCM is part of a team working hard to help and teach students to walk with God. We have adopted 5 goals to guide us in our task. These goals are called The Intentionals, meaning, these are the things we do on purpose.

So...if you want to know just exactly what our goal is for your life, here it is. We use the acronym LIVES so you can remember this better:

L. Inspire students to love God and experience God's love for them.

Matthew 22:37-38, "And he said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.'"

Other verses: 1 John 5:3; Jeremiah 31:3; Romans 5:8

I. Motivate students to invest in others.

2 Timothy 2:2, "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

Other verses: Matthew 22:39; John 15:12-13; Philippians 2:3-4

V. Encourage students to value a biblical lifestyle.

Joshua 1:8, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
Other verses: Isaiah 40:8; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:22-25

E. Equip students to reach their peers.

Matthew 4:19, "And he said to them, 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.'"

Other verses: Matthew 5:13-16; Romans 1:16; Colossians 1:28-29

S. Send students to their world.

Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Other verses: Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20; Isaiah 49:6
